New Story Massage Inspired by Scarecrows

We are often asked about how we get inspiration for creating Story Massages for children. Well, the answer can be quite simple. Just look around you…  And that’s exactly what Kay Locke and Brenda Shone, did on a recent Story Massage training day at the National Wildflower Centre in Liverpool. Here is the story behind their massage story written to help calm difficult emotions.

Story Massage for Difficult Emotions

“We knew we wanted to create a massage story about staying calm in the midst of difficult emotions,” explains Kay Locke, a yoga teacher specialising in mental health and special needs, “then we looked out of the window and spotted Chris the Scarecrow in the courtyard. He soon become our central character, and the massage story about emotional regulation just flowed from there.”

Kay and Brenda have kindly agreed to share their massage story which has been created for anyone who might benefit from discovering a sense of inner peace and calm to help cope with all the pressures of the outside world. The combination of positive touch with storytelling helps children to engage and make sense of the words.
