Here are some massage stories and a follow-along video on the theme of the ‘Weather and Seasons’. We hope this selection of ideas will inspire you to share the benefits of the Story Massage Programme.
Weather Themed Nursery Rhymes
These two fun nursery rhymes are always popular especially for those children who enjoy joining in with the simple words and strokes. Lots of opportunities for repetition as part of home-school partnership too. You can download the words and Story Massage strokes by clicking on their names below.
And this is always a favourite for all ages and abilities:
Weather Themed Sensory Story
This beautiful weather-themed poem was written by Gill White for PAMIS (Promoting a More Inclusive Society). Below are two follow-along videos by Gill White and Mary Atkinson, co-founder of the Story Massage Programme. Gill, who has won a Best Practice Award for her work with the Story Massage Programme, demonstrates ideas for sharing the story using sensory props. Mary demonstrates the Story Massage strokes.

Seasonal Massage Stories
These massage stories are also perfect for including in your topic about the weather and seasons. You adapt them for different seasons.
More about the Story Massage Programme
The Story Massage Programme combines the benefits of positive, respectful touch with the creativity and engagement of rhymes, songs and stories. Ten simple massage strokes form the basis of the programme. These strokes have a child friendly name, such as The Circle or The Sprinkle, and an easy to recognise symbol. It is a fully inclusive activity, no clothing is removed and no oil is used.
